UNITED STATES MINT 2012 INFANTRY SOLDIER
SILVER DOLLAR COMMEMORATIVE COIN DESIGN

Susan Carleton had the pleasure of watching National award winning artist
Ron Sanders work on a new oil painting during the sARTe`e sharing at the
North Port Art Center, 5950 Sam Shapos Way, in North Port, next to the YMCA.
Ron is also an instructor of drawing and painting and color value at the
North Port Art Center 423-6460.

North Port Art Center visitors Jill & Bill Roeder listen to artist Wanda Carter
explain about the use of colored pencils and soft pastels in the background as
national award winning artist Ron Sanders starts working on a figure of a wind-blown girl.

My workshop in Bucks County, PA, went very well.
You can see photos of the workshop and a plein air demo
on my Facebook Page:

The painting "Experimenting" was the Grand Prize Winner of the American Artist Magazine
Annual Cover Competition and was featured on the cover of the July 2011 issue.

My Painting "Experimenting" won first place at The Firecracker show in Punta Gorda, FL
And is now featured on the cover of Harbor Style Magazine's October (2010) Arts Issue with a multi-page article inside.

Dorothy Senior, an artist and poet, stood near the "Portrait Commission" watercolor painting

by Ron Sanders. Several poets from the North Port Poetry Workshop

selected a painting that was on display at the North Port Art Center

and wrote poetry to accompany it in the gallery.

Senior's poem was titled "Joint Venture" and covered the idea

of this invitation to artists and poetry on display.

Come and read all the poems that are partnered with the artwork,

Monday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at the North Port Art Center.

I often produce demonstration pieces, like this one in colored pencil, for my students during high season classes.
